Quality School Buildings

“Based on our experience at LaSalle, we believe EdBuild will be as successful on the facilities side as they have been with the academic support. DCPS needs more partners like EdBuild.” - Lonnie Robinson, PTA President, Sarah Faison, LSRT Chair

EdBuild manages rapid, on-time, on-budget building modernizations and maintenance, leveraging existing public and philanthropic dollars. EdBuild facility solutions include:

  • Maintenance and Modernization: Managing best-in-class professionals for pre-construction planning and construction of accelerated, cost-efficient building modernizations, as well as ongoing, high-quality building maintenance.
  • Space Sharing: Identifying an appropriate high-quality charter school or other partner to share space in the building and support long-term building maintenance.

Approach: Leveraging Expertise and Funds for Rapid Improvement
EdBuild helps school leaders use public space and dollars as efficiently as possible, deploying a combination of dedicated public capital funds, a pre-development loan fund raised privately, public charter school facility funding and, in some cases, New Market or Historic tax credits.  Long-term building maintenance is funded through public charter school facility funding and DCPS operations funding.

EdBuild's facility services team brings a proven track-record of success developing 11 million square feet of cost-efficient, high-quality public and commercial buildings. Among the team's local successes are The SEED School campus and the Willard Hotel and Office Building.

Result: High-Quality School Buildings That Support Learning, Delivered Quickly and Efficiently
With EdBuild’s support, school leaders have immediate access to the capacity and expertise to rapidly improve and sustain school buildings that truly support student achievement. Together with EdBuild’s targeted academic services, this work helps school leaders create and sustain more high-performing public schools, inside and out.
